Now I'll break it down, product-by-product...

ZOYA nail lacquer in the shade Caitlin

  • Description: Green is glam, especially when it comes to Zoya's super glossy lacquers. This lovely violet gray hue is your new spring go-to.

  • My Thoughts: Anyone who knows me knows I'm obsessed with nail polish. This was the very first item I saw when I opened my April Birchbox and I became all giddy and happy! Believe it or not, but this is my first Zoya nail polish! I've admired the brand for awhile, but without seeing any of the shades in person I was hesitant to buy them online. However, now I believe I will begin my Zoya collection with a few shades that I've had on my wish list (and the shade Caitlin just happened to be on that wish list).

  • Sample Size: 0.25 fl oz

  • Full Size: 0.5 fl oz  @ $8

  • Sample Size Value: $4.00

  • Where you can buy this product online: http://www.zoya.com; or click here for a direct link to the shade Caitlin.

ZOYA info booklet & color spoon chart/swatches

  • Description: These two items came in a CD-like case. On one side was the info booklet, packed page to page with info on the brand, products and complete swatches of all shades currently available. On the other side are the color spoon chart and swatches, which contained six pre-filled color spoons of Zoya's Intimate Collection (labeled with shade name/number) and six empty color spoons.

  • My Thoughts: These items may be something most people toss out, but for a nail polish fanatic like myself these items are a wonderful bonus! The info booklet was really great to have; I love seeing all the swatches in front of me instead of on the computer. It helped me create my perfect Zoya wish list! The color spoon chart and swatches is a fun little trinket to have. I do swatch all my nail polish on nail wheels, so I doubt I'll use the empty spoons for swatch purposes. However, I love having it - especially because I'll be able to share the other Intimate Collection shades in swatch version even though I don't own them (yet).

  • Sample Size: There's not really a sample size for these items, however, there are six filled color spoons and six empty color spoons.

  • Full Size: Zoya sells color spoons on their website for $0.50 each (pre-filled with polish)

  • Sample Size Value: $3.00 (based on the filled color spoons value)

JUICE BEAUTY Green Apple Peel; full strength

  • Description: This organic peel doesn't mess around: natural fruit acids dissolve even the most tenacious dead cells for an immediately brighter, smoother complexion.

  • My Thoughts: Juice Beauty is a brand I've wanted to try for awhile now. I'm excited that my first experience with Juice Beauty will be with a peel. I love at-home peels! This peel smells like a combination of sour green apple and the usual skincare smells. At first sniff it smells great, just like a green apple, but then your nose starts to pick up on other scents. But I'm not saying it's a bad smell; it actually smells really nice! This peel takes just 10 minutes and then you can rinse it off. My version is the "full strength" version, but I found a "sensitive" version on their website (both linked below). I can't wait to add this product into my skincare routine!

  • Sample Size: 0.5 fl oz

  • Full Size: 2 fl oz @ $45

  • Sample Size Value: $11.25

JUICE BEAUTY Stem Cellular Repair Eye Treatment

  • Description: This was an included bonus in April's Birchbox shipment, so there was no description on the info card. From Juice Beauty's website: A proprietary blend of fruit stem cells and a high concentration of fat-soluble Vitamin C works at the cellular level to repair skin DNA damage and encourage new cell growth to aggressively firm and eliminate dark circles and fine lines around the eyes. Antioxidant-rich fruit juices and plant oils hydrate and improve elasticity for lasting, advanced age defy results.

  • My Thoughts: I already have an eye cream that I'm using on a regular basis, but that too is a deluxe sample size. Once I run out of the current eye cream I'm using I will try this one out. The sample size would probably only last a few days to a week, but that's still long enough for me to get a fell for the formula and of course see if my skin has any adverse reactions to it. Overall a great bonus to receive!

  • Sample Size: 0.035 fl oz

  • Full Size: 0.5 fl oz @ $45

  • Sample Size Value: $3.15

  • Where you can buy this product online: http://www.juicebeauty.com; or click here for a direct link to the Stem Cellular Repair Eye Treatment.

LIV GRN Earth Eau de Parfum

  • Description: Made from biodegradable and sustainable ingredients, this lush scent is laced with jasmine and sandalwood. Plus, ten percent of sales go directly to Global Green.

  • My Thoughts: I'm not really a big fragrance person; I get headaches easily from most scents and often will tear out all perfume ads from magazines before I'm even able to read my magazine. However, with all that being said, I actually really like this fragrance! The scent is light and airy. This scent is relaxing and fresh. This fragrance could be worn by a man or a woman.

  • Sample Size: There was no size listed, but this is the typical sample vile of perfume - most of which are about 0.05 fl oz in size.

  • Full Size: 3.4 fl oz @ $60

  • Sample Size Value: $0.88 (based on my guess that the sample size if 0.05 fl oz)

  • Where you can buy this product online: http://www.livgrn.com/store; or click here for a direct link to the LIV GRN Earth Eau de Parfum.

WELEDA Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Lotion

  • Description: A silky lotion that adds major hydration without feeling heavy. Organic rosehip oil is rich in antioxidants and vitamins A and E, which work to soften and protect the skin.

  • My Thoughts: Rose is one scent I'm just not fond of and unfortunately this product smells like a lot of roses. The scent, for me, is hard to get past so I don't think I'll ever try this out. But I'm going to keep it in my sample box for the possibility of trying it in the future. There are times when my fragrance preference changes, so it's very possible that in the future I will be able to tolerate or even start to like the way this product smells. On a side note, I love the hot pink packaging this product comes in.

  • Sample Size: 0.17 fl oz

  • Full Size: 1 fl oz @ $28

  • Sample Size Value: $4.76

  • Where you can buy this product online: http://www.weleda.com; or click here for a direct link to the Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Lotion.

BLOOMIN Seed Paper

  • Description: This was another bonus included in April's Birchbox shipment. Even better than recyclable: Plant this handmade paper in soil, give it a little water, and watch it sprout wildflowers!

  • My Thoughts: I've seen seed paper in the past, mostly for wedding favors, but I've never actually tried it out. I think the idea is wonderful. I'm all about up-cycling (where you take one item that may have been trash and transform it/re-purpose it into something else useful). I like the idea of using Bloomin seed paper for invitations and then knowing they won't just be tossed in the trash, but instead up-cycled into beautiful wildflowers. My son is thrilled to try it. He couldn't believe that a "rough and bumpy" piece of paper could turn into flowers. At the time I wrote this post we have yet to try it out, but it's on our list of things to do. I think I'll use the Bloomin company in the future.

  • Sample Size: There really isn't an exact sample size to list, but I would say it's comparable to the enclosure card size that Bloomin sells on their website.

  • Full Size: 1 enclosure card @ $1.50

  • Sample Size Value: $1.50

  • Where you can buy this product online: http://www.bloomin.com; or click here for a direct link to enclosure cards.
